Fried Chicken has become a culture in Korea! It’s hard to explain how much better Fried Chicken can taste in Korea. Once you have experienced the taste of the crispiness and tenderness of perfected Korean Fried Chicken, it’s hard to go back to your normal KFC.
When you hang out with friends at the Han River, that's when you have chicken. If you have an after-work party, that's when you have chicken. If you are at home and feel like eating something, that's when you have chicken!
The best combination that goes with chicken in Korea is beer, which is why they even have a word for that:
Chi-Mac 치맥[Chicken and Maekju (Beer)].

It is an annual event that celebrates the beloved combination of fried chicken and beer. Held in Daegu, Korea, this festival attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world who come to enjoy a variety of chicken dishes, cold beer, and live entertainment.
